The organization offers the community a wide range of alternative therapies, including Reiki. Barbara felt particularly drawn to Reiki, as it can help all conditions, mental and physical. Having practiced on friends and family, Barbara began offering Reiki at a greatly reduced price to those that could not have afforded it otherwise.<\/p>\n<p>Seeing the difference it can make to people\u2019s lives Barbara felt compelled to go further in her studies. She attended classes of Walid Ghoneim an Egyptian Reiki master in Edinburgh. He took her back to the original roots of Reiki. With his vast knowledge of Reiki history, methods, and experience he greatly furthered her knowledge.<\/p>\n<p>In June 2002 Barbara was initiated to <b>Karuna Reiki Master<\/b> <b><a href=\"http:\/\/www.reiki.org\/studentlist\/student_list.asp?letter=c\">KR# 84288<\/a><\/b> by William Lee Rand, the founder. She is fully certified by The International Center for Reiki Training (ICRT), Southfield, MI, USA. The graduation and initiation took place in <b>Glastonbury and Stonehenge, England<\/b>. Barbara is also registered by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.reikikids.ca\/reiki-masters.html\">Reiki Kids<\/a> to teach children Reiki using their method of teaching.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2002 Barbara has been teaching Reiki and Karuna Reiki\u00ae at The Reiki Healing Center. During this time she has taught almost exclusively in western upstate NY. She has expanded her classes into MA using her sponsorship opportunities.
